53COVS Type CO 3-Hour Static Fire Damper (Oval)
The Alumavent 53COVS is a 3-hour label vertical mount static fire damper, UL/ULC approved for use in HVAC systems where fans automatically shut down in the event of a fire alarm. The Type CO blade configuration is specifically designed for oval ductwork, with blades positioned outside of the duct airflow path, and the interlocking curtain type blade design is suitable for use in vertical fire separations with a fire resistance rating of 4 hours or less.

The 53COVS is UL/ULC certified for use as a 3-hour static fire damper in HVAC systems.
The 53COVS is designed for installation in vertical fire-rated wall and floor assemblies using oval ductwork, where the HVAC system fans shut down automatically on fire alarm activation. The 3-hour fire rating makes it suitable for fire separations requiring a higher level of protection than the 1-1/2 hour 51-series dampers, including fire walls and high fire resistance rated assemblies up to 4 hours. The Type CO configuration accommodates oval duct geometry while keeping the blades outside of the airflow path during normal operation. The interlocking curtain blade closes under spring tension when the fusible link releases.
